Bob Currie grew up around the Ballymena area, which is located in the centre of Northern Ireland. From an early age he developed a keen interest in drawing and painting and was a pupil of ...... at Tullygrawley School in the 1950's, the same one who is famous for his.....

Since art was not seen as a proper career in those days Bob served his time working as an electrician until eventually running his own company with a family business partner. He retired in 2009 and now has the time to devote to his true passions which are art, cycling, family and fishing.

As a keen cyclist he still competes in cycle races with the Ballymena Road Club even now in his seventieth year. The many miles of training that this requires also serves as a means to exploring all the hidden nooks and crannys in the surrounding countryside, taking time to observe nature in the way it was intended, slowly and intimately.
